Bio
Chandler is a trial and appellate lawyer with over fifteen years of experience handling complex litigation disputes, federal criminal defense, white-collar defense, and internal investigations throughout Vermont, Massachusetts and New York. He was named a Thomson Reuter’s “SuperLawyer” in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015. He has successfully defended government officials, corporate officers, professionals, and politicians in a wide range of criminal and civil matters.
Prior to joining Barr Law Group, Chandler represented businesses in corporate litigation as well as domestic and international corporate transactions with the law firm of Ford Marrin in lower Manhattan, and in private practice in Boston. Chandler handled a wide variety of complex criminal and civil matters as lead counsel in both jury and bench trials. Chandler has served as lead litigation counsel in complex commercial fraud, securities litigation, racketeering, conspiracy, money laundering, and international trafficking cases. He has handled hundreds of trials in state and federal courts, and has handled appellate matters before the high courts of New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Chandler has also served as counsel for businesses and not-for-profits in Vermont and Massachusetts in connection with corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance and other business affairs.
Chandler is a proud member of Team Sheila, a non-profit dedicated to curing ALS, and Judy’s and Janet’s Kids, which was formed to raise money for the treatment of women’s cancers. Mr. Matson also serves as outside and general counsel to the not-for-profit organizations of the North American Hockey Academy, the Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts, and the Scout Film Festival.
